Thank you for visiting my Web site. As I travel through North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District (NC2), I am humbled and honored by your support and desire to elect me as your voice in Washington. I am committed to working for you and with you to restore our nation to what our Founding Fathers envisioned... the Land of the Free. It will be a team effort and will require some hard choices and strong leadership, but there is hope. Rather than vague promises, the Libertarian Party offers solutions.

Often, as I engage others in conversation, they immediately try to brand me with a label. For a lack of a better phrase, I consider myself to be a "conservatively-influenced Libertarian." What are you? I ask that you don't vote on labels but rather vote on the issues and get informed about which candidate truly represents your views.

I invite you to explore this Web site to learn more about my qualifications, education and background. Most importantly, you will find in writing my stance on various issues impacting us today as well as recommendations for curing our government-induced crises.  These positions are based on the simple principles of upholding the Constitution, safeguarding our freedom, promoting a limited government, and encouraging free enterprise so that we may all prosper.

Until recently, I've been active within the Republican Party seeking to promote the causes the party espoused; however, I felt as if my party gradually abandoned me and took a wrong turn.  I was enheartened to hear many of you feel the same. My new path is in the Libertarian Party where America's core values are promoted in action as well as words. Check out Mike Munger and Phil Rhodes running for NC Governor and Lieutenant Governor respectively; this is in addition to 36 other worthy Libertarian candidates running on the 2008 ballot.

In all fairness, there are still still liberty-minded statesmen like BJ Lawson, Ron Paul and other associated with the Republican Liberty Caucus that deserve our support. Again, I challenge you to get informed about the candidates and show the courage to vote on principle rather than party lines.

Sadly, my challengers either oppose these principles, based upon voting records, or refuse to fully take a stand on the issues. While you may or may not agree with my position on a certain issue, at least you will know where I stand.  If I betray that trust you place in me, then I expect to be held accountable just as Representative Bob Etheridge now needs to be held accountable.

I am not a career politician. I am not bound by obligations to special interest groups. I am not caught up in partisan politics. I am open to the ideas that will work regardless of where the plan originates. It's time for politicians to set aside personal agendas to serve their constituents and uphold the Constitution they took an oath to defend. If they will not, as they have demonstrated, then someone else must. After being asked to run as your candidate for US Congress, I was forced to ponder the question "If not me, then who?  If not now, then when?" After consulting with my family and trusted friends, I resolved to do my best to make a difference.

Together, let's restore the values and priorities that have made our state such a wonderful place to raise our families, prosper in our businesses, and grow in the right direction.  To do that, I need your vote in November and your support today.

In Liberty,

-Will
